Common Smile Concerns

Your questions answered.

Teeth naturally become more yellow over time due to a combination of biological changes inside the tooth, and staining on the surface from foods and drinks we consume.  Our EMS Airflow® is highly effective at removing surface stains from teeth. It does this by gently shooting a precise stream of warm water and a fine powder onto the surface of your teeth, gently lifting surface stains away. Deeper stains can be effectively removed with professional whitening, either in our clinic or as a take home kit. You can expect up to 8 shades whiter teeth. For age related yellowing, options can include composite resin and porcelain veneers. Stains caused by medication or trauma, such as tetracycline during tooth development tend to produce darker or grey-yellow discolouration. These can be treated through a combination of treatment options. Speak to your dental professional for further information on how we can help your yellow or stained teeth.

For moderate to severe crooked teeth, treatment can include orthodontics. We offer both fixed orthodontics and clear aligners. Minor cases may be treated with composite bonding and porcelain veneers to recontour teeth profile to restore a straighter, more even smile.

Composite bonding is highly effective at closing gaps between teeth, and it is minimally invasive as you don’t need to shave the tooth structure down to apply the composite. A tooth coloured resin is layered onto your teeth and shaped into a natural form. The composite used blends seamlessly with your existing teeth. Composite resin can also be used to mask discoloured teeth. Porcelain veneers are another option where you may want to re-profile the shape of teeth to close gaps.

Composite resin is a highly effective treatment option for minor chips. A tooth coloured resin is applied to the affected area and blended seamlessly with the surrounding natural tooth structure. Minimal or no preparation is required to the existing enamel.

Orthodontics (both fixed ortho and clear aligners) are good options to fix uneven smiles. Injectables can be used to alter the smile and bring down the lip line for patients with excessive teeth visible in their smile.

Replace old and worn dental work with new restorations. Same day crowns are possible with our CEREC system. Composite bonding can also be performed in a single visit with little to no down time following your appointment

A complete Smile Makeover

Our cosmetic dental procedures can be combined in order to perform a Smile Makeover, which can incorporate rehabilitation and enhancement services. Cosmetic dental treatments can work together to construct an aesthetically pleasing smile that takes into consideration the general shape of your teeth; each tooth appearance, the colour, overall oral health and the appearance of your smile as a whole.

The experienced dentists at Millennium Dental Mosman want to work with patients towards a mutual goal of delivering white smiles through safe, effective treatment services.

Ivo Smilek

Director

Hi, i’m Ivo, part owner and practice manager at Millennium Dental Mosman. My journey didn’t start in dentistry, it began in finance. Along the way I’ve discovered that what truly motivates me is helping people feel cared for and supported. That’s what lead me to build a practice where compassion, comfort, and genuine connection come first.

Dentistry can be intimidating, and I’m committed to creating a space where patients feel listened to, respected, and confident that they’re in good hands. I’ve continued to invest in the latest technology to ensure our patients experience the very best dental care possible. The practice is more than a workplace, it’s a community of shared values.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my children and taking them on camping adventures.
