Restore Your Smile and Your Confidence
Damaged, missing or infected teeth can affect far more than your smile – they can impact how you eat, speak and feel about yourself.
At Millennium Dental Mosman, we provide advanced restorative dentistry to rebuild the strength, health and appearance of your teeth.
Restorative Dentistry Services
Broken or cracked teeth
Cracks in teeth rarely heal on their own. Even small cracks can propagate suddenly, often leading to infections, tooth loss and more complex treatment later. Depending on the severity of your broken or cracked tooth, your options can include composite bonding and ceramic restorations, both designed to reinforce your remaining natural dentition. For small inlays and onlays, we can even make a custom ceramic restoration in less than 5 minutes. For larger restorations to full coverage crowns, we can machine these in house out of a range of materials, each designed for a specific purpose, whether you’re a grinder or need a highly translucent option within the aesthetic zone.
Missing teeth
There are various options to replace missing teeth, each with their own benefits and limitations. The gold standard and closest to a natural tooth is a dental implant. We design the placement of these using CBCT imaging that captures your bone morphology and overlay this digitally with a 3D scan of your soft tissues. This is the only way to ensure the final result is not only clinically sound, but highly aesthetic. Other options include dentures and bridges. Your dental clinician will be able to discuss your exact needs during your initial consultation.
Failing crowns or fillings
Crowns and fillings deteriorate over time due to wear and age. Fillings can start to leak around the margins, introducing the possibility of infections. It is advisable to replace failing crowns and fillings when their useful life has passed. At Millennium Dental Mosman, we offer a comprehensive range of options from fillings to ceramic restorations, all designed to protect your teeth’s health.
Severe tooth wear
Teeth are incredibly strong, but over time they can slowly wear down. Grinding, clenching, acidic foods, reflux, or simply years of everyday use can gradually erode the enamel that protects your teeth. When wear becomes severe, teeth may appear shorter, flatter, more yellow, or uneven. You may also notice increased sensitivity, difficulty chewing, or changes in your bite. Untreated, it can lead to further tooth breakdown, cracked or fractured teeth, bite collapse, jaw discomfort or TMJ issues. Treatment options depend on the cause and severity of the wear. They may include composite bonding, crowns, night guards and education to manage acidic diet or reflux.
Gum disease
Gum disease is one of the most common dental conditions, yet many people don’t realise they have it until it has already progressed. It begins with inflammation caused by plaque bacteria along the gum line. If left untreated, it can gradually damage the tissue and bone that supports your teeth, eventually leading to loose teeth or tooth loss. When detected early, gum disease can often be treated effectively and stabilised with the right care. Early warning signs include bleeding gums when brushing or flossing, red, swollen or tender gums, persistent bad breath, receding gums or teeth appearing longer, loose teeth and sensitivity near the gum line. Our clinical team are perfectly placed to diagnose and treat gum disease.
Difficulty chewing or discomfort when eating
Problems with chewing can develop gradually and may be caused by damaged teeth, bite issues, missing teeth, or gum disease. Even small problems can make it difficult to chew certain foods and may worsen over time if left untreated. You may notice pain when biting or chewing, avoiding certain foods on one side of your mouth, sensitivity to pressure when eating, food getting stuck between teeth, difficulty chewing tougher food and jaw discomfort or fatigue when eating. We’re trained to carefully assess the underlying cause of chewing discomfort and recommend treatment options designed to restore comfort, function, and long-term oral health.
